RE Curriculum
At Broom Leys Primary School, we have adopted The Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2016-2021 Leicestershire SACRE. This curriculum supports our children to develop a good understanding of religious beliefs and viewpoints.
The Purpose of Religious Education
Religious Education (RE) contributes to a child’s education in school by allowing them to ask questions about meaning and purpose in life, beliefs about God, ultimate reality, issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human. Children learn about religions and worldviews in local, national and global contexts and discover, explore and evaluate different answers to questions raised. They learn to consider the value of wisdom from different sources and develop and express their own thoughts and ideas in responses which enables them to agree or disagree respectfully.
