Broom Leys Primary School converted to Academy Status on 1st November 2012.
This means that the school is a publicly funded independent school. As an Academy we don’t have to follow the National Curriculum and can set our own term times. At Broom Leys our curriculum does, however, reflect the National Curriculum and our term dates remain in line with local schools so that in these respects our pupils have a similar school experience to those at other schools in the Coalville area. We still have to follow the same rules on admissions, special educational needs and exclusions as other state schools.
Academies get money direct from the government, not the local council. Our school is run by an academy trust which employs the staff.
Broom Leys Primary School is an exempt charity and a company limited by guarantee, registered in England with Company Number 08240680. Registered office: Broom Leys Primary School, Broom Leys Road, Coalville, Leicestershire. LE67 4DB.
